Ment Brothers Iron Works Co., Inc. is a miscellaneous iron and ornamental metals contractor serving the great New York metropolitan area and is located in the Financial District of Manhattan. Ment bids competitively for contracts on ground up, new construction projects as well as renovation projects. Most of the company’s projects involve large commercial structures such as office buildings, residential high-rise buildings, theaters, and institutions.
The company was founded in 1930 by members of the Ment family and was privately owned by the family until 2008 when the company adopted an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This transaction transferred 100 percent of the ownership to the employees and simultaneously qualified it for certification as a Minority Owner Business Enterprise (MBE) with New York State.
It’s legacy of design expertise, precision fabrication and quality installations not only carried over into the ESOP but has expanded further since the transition.
